Photography Workshop at Mardan, KP, Pakistan

(7th & 8th March, 2016) Awaz Welfare Organization conducted a 2-days Photography Workshop at Mardan under the RICH project of the Directorate of Culture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The workshop was focused to equip the youth of district Mardan with photography skill to help them capture and share their cultural heritage.

More than 40 male and female students from different educational institutes participated in the workshop including college students, university students as well as professionals. The workshop provided a better foundation for young and interest students to acquire better photography skills. The trainer at the workshop Engr. Akifullah Khan explicated the basics of photography, starting with the building block of digital imagery “the PIXEL” to the photography keys “ISO, Shutter, Aperture” and composition rules and how to operate point-and-shoot as well as DSLR cameras according to light ambience in different scenes.

Awaz Welfare Organization (AWO) is a charitable and non-profit organization specializing in development and humanitarian assistance. It was founded in 1999 and completed numerous projects across the KP province of Pakistan. Since then AWO has provided over 250 million rupees of humanitarian assistance. A number of such literary and cultural activities have been launched by the Directorate of Culture Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under their project titled “Revival of Indigenous Cultural Heritage (RICH)”. The project is being implemented in partnership with local organizations and launched a number of activities to revive the indigenous cultural heritage of Pashtuns of Khyber Pakhtunwa.
